I was in Hayes Valley this afternoon and stopped by Lemon Twist, a small, hip women’s clothing boutique. Lemon Twist’s style is mod and feminine but not frilly. The designs are clean and distinctive.

Lemon Twist is run by Danette and Eric Scheib, a married couple with an ability to create perfect dresses and coats season after season. All of the clothing and fabric designs are their own, and the manufacturing takes place in the back of the store and in their Oakland workroom.

Doing their own manufacturing allows them to remake that shirt you should have bought last season or produce those pants in the small size they have sold out of. They can also design children’s version of anything in their collection, insuring that your girls are the best dressed for any occasion.

Next time you are on Hayes St, walk around the corner on Octavia and stop in Lemon Twist.
